Tohu ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Dec-2016
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the edge. This has a very full, broad and voluminous nose with well-packed aromas of pungent passionfruit and ripe, savoury tropical fruits and dark herbs, with an underlying mineral piquancy and freshness, unfolding white floral notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a rounded core of ripe, pungent passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours, entwined with savoury herbs. The flavours fill the palate, but are enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity and balanced by fine phenolic textures. The rich, mouthfilling flavours carry to a rounded, long-lingering passionfruity finish. This is a full, rich, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with ripe tropical fruut and herb notes and a fresh, fine-featured mouthfeel. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the company’s Awatere Valley vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 18.5/20 Dec 2016 RRP $19.95
