Tohu ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Sep-2014
Light salmon-pink colour with some depth, lighter on rim. The nose is light and delicate with positive strawberry fruit aromas along with lifted florals and nuances of confectionary, revealing a mouthwatering, minerally steeliness. Dry to taste and elegantly presented, light strawberry and floral fruit flavours show some aromatic esters lift and are enlivened by racy, lacy, thirst-quenching acidity. The wine has a good core and flows smoothly, following a fine-textured line, the subtly sweet fruit balanced by fine acid cut. Floral and herb notes emerge on the tight, sustained finish. This is an elegant, crisp and racy dryish rosé with delicate strawberry and floral fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2 years. Clone 115 fruit from the company’s Waihopi vineyard, given 24 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.3 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 weeks on lees. 17.5/20 Sep 2014 RRP $21.95
