Tohu ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Jun-2014
Fruit from a single site in the Rapaura district, fermented warm in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 1.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months in tank undergoing batonnage and MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour with light green hues on edge. The nose is softly fresh and concentrated with a firm, linear amalgam of citrus fruits, butterscotch MLF and steely minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, softly presented, up-front flavours of citrus fruit and butterscotch form a gentle core. The mouthfeel is soft with discreet acidity and rounded textures that provide good vinous presence. As the wine flows, mouthwatering, steely mineral and citrus fruit flavours lead to a light, lingering finish with butterscotch elements. This is a soft and up-front, unoaked Chardonnay with butterscotch flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and seafood over the next 3+ years. 17.0-/20 Jun 2014 RRP $21.95
