Tohu ‘Raiha Reserve’ ‘Limited Release’ Marlborough Noble Riesling 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Nov-2015
Full, golden-yellow colour with some depth. The nose is bold and powerfully concentrated with soft and deeply packed aromas of opulently ripe tropical fruit complexed by honey, marmalade, figs and crystallised fruits, unfolding musky and talc botrytis layers. Nuances of caramel and toffee emerge in the glass. Very sweet and light-bodied, decadently luscious, honied, marmalade and tropical fruit flavours form a rounded, unctuous palate core. This has waves of exotic musk and talc botrytis with caramel nuances. The wine is smooth and seamless, with low acidity enhancing the richness. The flavours flow to a viscous, exotic, nectar-like finish. This is a rich, exotic, opulent botrytis-affected sweet Riesling with tropical fruits, marmalade, honey and musk on an unctuous palate. Serve with steamed puddings and blue cheese over the next 4+ years. Botrytis-affected fruit from the company’s Awatere vineyard, hand-picked and fermented in stainless-steel to 11.0% alc. and 175 g/L RS, TA 6.6 g/L and pH 3.7. (375 ml) 18.5+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $27.95
