Tohu ‘Raiha Reserve’ ‘Limited Release’ Marlborough Noble Riesling 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Jun-2014
Botytised Riesling fruit from the company’s Awatere Valley vineyard picked at 35.2° Brix and fermented to 11.5% alc. and 196 g/L rs, with pH 3.64 and TA 6.6 g/L. Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour with good depth, pale green hues on rim. This has a very full, rich and densely packed nose of marmalade and bush honey with talc botrytis underlined by ripe citrus fruits, forming an excellent, complex, aromatic amalgam. Very sweet, this has a gentle and soft textured palate with restrained richness and lusciousness. The flavours of honey, marmalade, tropical fruits and musk are harmoniously interwoven with soft acidity, resulting in a seamlessly smooth texture. The wine blossoms and becomes more detailed and layered on the sustained finish. This is a soft and decadent dessert wine showing plenty of bo+/rytis. Serve with crème caramel or blue cheeses over the next 4+ years. (375 ml) 18.0+/20 Dec 2011 RRP $27.95
