Tohu Marlborough Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Nov-2015
An un-oaked Chardonnay. Fruit from the ‘Rothay’ vineyard in the Rapaura district, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage and full MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with delicate, but tightly held aromas of clean and uncomplicated citrus fruits entwined with subtle lemon-curd and butterscotch MLF detail. Medium-bodied, the palate is clean, crisp and refreshing with pure and straightforward flavours of white stonefruits and citrus fruits. Subtle creamy elements, lemon curd and butterscotch, along with nutty nuances add delicate detail. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with good acidity, and the wine follows a light, fine-textured line leading to a clean, dry, gently nuanced finish. This is a clean, uncomplicated, light and fresh, citrussy Chardonnay with subtle creamy hints. Serve as an aperitif or with seafood and poultry over the next 2-3 years. 16.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $21.95
