Tohu Marlborough Chardonnay 2012

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Dec-2012
An unoaked Chardonnay. Clone 6 fruit from Wratts Road in the Rapaura district, stainless-steel fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine given batonnage and undergoing MLF. Brilliant, very pale straw colour with lemon-green hues, pale on rim. This has a fresh, firm nose with an amalgam of peach and citrus fruits intermixed creamy, nutty MLF notes and nuances of minerals and herbs. Dry and full-bodied, a harmonious melange of peaches and citrus fruits, butterscotch and nuts form a rich and weighty core. The flavours flow on a smooth, creamy-textured palate, with good underlining acidity providing a racy tension. Nuances of flint, minerals and herbs unfold and merge with the citrus and buttery flavours on a long and sustained finish. This is a smooth and creamy Chardonnay with soft citrus and buttery flavours. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. 17.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $21.95
