Tohu Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Feb-2011
The fruit for this wine is mostly Clone 6 from the Rapaura region. It was stainless-steel fermented to 13.0% alc, given lees stirring and underwent partial malo conversion. Bright light straw yellow with golden hues to the colour, this has a shy nose, lightly expressing citrus fruits with minerally overtones and some buttery malo notes. However, there is a strong burst of pineapple, sweetly ripe citrus and tropical fruit flavours on the palate. A lush creaminess to the texture adds a layer of drinking interest, and good, fresh acidity contributes to the dry finish. A medium-weight, properly fruited unoaked Marlborough Chardonnay that will drink well over the next 2-3 years. 16.5+/20 Dec 2010 RRP $21.95
