Tohu Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2014

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Nov-2015
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with pale purple hues on the rim. The nose is light and uncomplicated with aromas of raspberries and red berry fruits along with restrained peppery and soft herbal nuances. Medium-bodied, light, juicy and sweet flavours of raspberry fruit are entwined with red cherry, white pepper and herbal elements on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft, smooth and supple, very accessible and easy, with modest tannin structure, and soft acidity. The wine flows easily to a light-fruited finish. This is a light, juicy, easy and accessible Syrah with raspberry fruit notes and a soft mouthfeel. Match with pasta, poultry and pork over the next 2+ years. Hawke’s Bay fruit, hand-picked, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 15 months in seasoned French oak barriques. 16.0/20 Nov 2015 RRP $27.95
