Tohu Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Nov-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of pale gold. This has a fresh, gently voluminous nose of bright and aromatic yellow stonefruits and honeysuckle lifted by exotic yellow florals. The nose is full, and grows in depth and density in the glass. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is soft and plush with rich yellow stonefruit flavours intermingling with pears, honeysuckle and exotic floral elements. This is smooth flowing with fresh, lacy acidity lending linearity and elegance. The wine carries effortlessly to a soft finish with nuances of flowers and honey. This is an elegant, smooth and plush off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit flavours and exotic florals. Match with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese fare over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the Awatere Valley cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5.5 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. 18.0/20 Nov 2015 RRP $21.95
