Tohu Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Nov-2014
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is very tightly bound and slender in proportion with aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, lifted by florals and honeysuckle elements, revealing mineral nuances with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this is elegantly presented with flavours of white stonefruits and lifted florals that grow in intensity and a little richness. The palate is lively and bright with fine acidity and a thread of texture that balances the suggestion of fruit sweetness. The wine has weight and presence, flowing with good energy and tension to a soft-textured finish. This is an elegant, lifted and dry Pinot Gris with fresh stonefruit flavours and a soft, textured presence. Serve with poultry, pork and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from a number of Awatere Valley sites, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.5/20 Nov 2014 RRP $21.95
