Tinpot Hut ‘Turner Vineyard’ Marlborough Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2012
First release of a Riesling from fruit from the ‘Turner' home vineyard in the Blind River sub-region of the Awatere Valley, hand-picked and fermented to 10.1% alc. and 16 g/L rs. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The bouquet is subtly nuanced with delicate aromas of limes and lemons infused with mineral and musky notes. Off-dry to taste, this is light-weighted with fine fruit flavours of limes, white florals and stone-like minerals. The mouthfeel is soft and graceful with lacy, crisp acidity and a little textural thread which leads to a zingy, moderately sustained finish with a little drying astringency. This should develop more interest and complexing nuances with time in the bottle. This is a trim Riesling with a soft citrus and minerally expression. Serve as an aperitif over the next 3-4+ years. 16.5+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $22.00
