Tinpot Hut ‘McKee Vineyard’ Marlborough Gruner Veltliner 2012

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, this has a full, fresh and aromatic nose of lifted florals and exotic spices and honeysuckle with underlying white pepper and herbal notes. Dry to taste, this is medium-bodied with light exotic floral fruit flavours and hints of spice. This is soft and dry, in mouthfeel and the wine flows smoothly through the palate, with the acidity restrained and in good balance. There is a good core and line that leads to a fine-textured and dry finish featuring stonefuits, herbs and florals. This is a dry, slender Gruner Veltliner with exotic flavours and good body. Serve with dim sum and fine Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘McKee' vineyard in the Blind River sub-region of the Awatere Valley, hand-picked and WBP, fermented in tank to 12.9% alc. and 2.3 g/L rs. 17.5+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $22.00
