Tinpot Hut Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2012
Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards in the Blind River district of the Awatere Valley and from the Lower Wairau Valley cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.9% alc. and 2.8 g/L rs. Full, bright, pale straw-yellow colour with lemony-green hues. The bouquet is tight and sleek in proportion with aromas of English gooseberries interwoven with passionfruit and mineral notes. Dry to taste, the flavours of passionfruit, gooseberries and minerals are reserved, but the palate has good weight, depth and vinosity, with a dry, linear drive. The acidity is in good balance and the palate is fine in texture. The restrained flavours carry through to a gently nuanced finish with moderately sustained flavours. This is an elegant, restrained and dry Sauvignon Blanc that will reveal more over the next 2+ years. Serve with tapas and antipasto. 17.5/20 Oct 2012 RRP $22.00
