Tinpot Hut Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Feb-2014
Fruit from the ‘Home Block’ and ‘McKee’ vineyard in the Blind River sub-region, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.6% alc. and 5.3 g/L RS. Bright, light straw-yellow colour with light green hues on rim. This has a very fresh, bright and elegant bouquet, slender in presentation but with penetrating aromas of vibrant white pear and yellow stonefruits with a lifted amalgam of white florals, herbs and minerals. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, a soft core of pears, stonefruits and honeysuckle is harmoniously supported by very fine phenolic textures and gentle, lacy acidity. The flavours flow smoothly to a moderately lon, lingering finish. This is a bright, fresh, off-dry Pinot Gris with subtle pear and honied flavours. Match with fine Asian fare over the next 3+ years. 17.5/20 Feb 2014 RRP $22.00
