Tinpot Hut Marlborough Gruner Veltliner 2010

Gruner Veltliner from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Mar-2011
Tinpot Hut joins a growing number of wineries making successful examples from this popular Austrian variety in New Zealand. Fullish straw-yellow colour with some depth, this has a fresh, intense nose of delicate herbal and nectarine-like fruit aromas, along with hints of peaches and pepper. Dry on palate, this is crisp with deep herb, pepper and subtle tropical fruit flavours. Soft acidity and a little textural grip provide a long, dry, nuanced finish. Made from fruit from the Rapaura district cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs, and given 3 months lees contact. Match with salads, vegetables and Mediterranean fare over the next 3-4 years. 17.0/20 Mar 2011 RRP $26.00
