Timbuktu South Australia Cabernet/Merlot 2012

Blended Red from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 05-Apr-2015
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, fruit from South Australia, fermented to 14.5% alc. Dark, deep, black-hued garnet red colour. This has an elegantly concentrated and softly packed nose of blackcurrant fruit and red berry fruits entwined with black ink, herbs and stalky elements, the aromatics showing accessible varietal character. Medium-full bodied, ripe and subtly sweet flavours of blackcurrants, plums and herbs are supported by fine, grainy tannins. The mouthfeel is soft-textured and harmonious in presentation, with good acid liveliness carrying the wine to a light, lingering dry finish with herb nuances. This is a softly packed Cabernet and Merlot blend with freshness and a dry finish. Serve with barbecued red meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. 15.5+/20 Apr 2015 RRP $15.95
