Tiki ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Apr-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The bouquet is elegantly presented, near reserved, with firmly concentrated aromas of white and yellow stonefruits melded with an amalgam of gooseberries, soft, savoury herbs and wet-stone mineral nuances. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a tightly concentrated, but rounded cote with restrained flavours of gooseberries, yellow stonefruits, herbs and yellow capsicums. The soft, fruit richness is balanced by lacy, crisp acidity and fine, dry textures. The wine flows with gentle energy and tension, and a little alcohol drive, leading to a long, lingering finish of gooseberries and savoury herbs. This is a tight, crisp, finely concentrated dry Sauvignon Blanc with the beginnings of savoury gooseberry and herbal development. Match with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the ‘River Terrace’ vineyard in the Upper Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 17.5/20 Apr 2016 RRP $22.95
