Tiki ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Apr-2015
Bright, lemon-hued straw-yellow with a faint suggestion of blush. The nose is softly voluminous with gentle aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, unfolding nuances of spices, pears, flinty lees and savoury reductive elements. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, soft and luscious flavours of yellow stonefruits show with nuances of yellow florals, spices and honeysuckle. Some savoury reduction adds to the detail. The wine follows a subtle phenolic line with fine textures, the palate enlivened by refreshing acidity, carrying to a firm, mouthwatering finish with good acid crispness and cut. This is a gently luscious, dryish Pinot Gris with subtle savoury fruit and good acid cut. Serve as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard in the Upper Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 6.6 g/L RS. Winemaker: Evan Ward. 16.5/20 Apr 2015 RRP $24.95
