Tiki ‘Single Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Nov-2013
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour, near colourless on rim. The bouquet is fresh and voluminous with lifted esters entwined with white and yellow stonefruit aromas at the core. Exotic florals, honey and minerals emerge in the glass adding interest and detail. Off-dry to taste, gentle, rich flavours of stonefruits, florals and honey fill the palate. The mouthfeel is soft in texture and very smooth, the flavours flowing seamlessly. A suggestion of creamy unctuousness enriches and adds weight to the palate, with fine, lacy acidity providing freshness and balance. Youthful esters are present and are carried by underlying alcohol power to a lingering finish featuring savoury stonefruit flavours. This is a soft, smooth-flowing off-dry Pinot Gris with subtly rich and aromatic fruit flavours. It should grow in fruit depth in the bottle. Match with most Asian foods over the next 4+ years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard in the Wairau Alpine Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc., and 5.6 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $24.95
