Tiki ‘Koro’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 13-Jul-2012
Light ruby-red colour with some purple hues. The bouquet is elegant, quite tightly bound with an ethereal nature showing red berry fruits and red florals, underscored by some funky earth, mineral and minerally complexities. Medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of black cherries, red berries and fresh herbs are tightly concentrated forming a good core to the palate line, and oaking is balanced and unobtrusive. Fine-grained tannins show with some youthful firmness, and lead to a moderately sustained, dry finish with herb and minerally nuances. This is a classical, cool-edged Gibbston Pinot Noir that is firm and slender in style, with tightly-held fruit that will unfold over the next 5-7 years. Serve with roasted pork or with firm cheeses. Fruit from the Gibbston Valley fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 11 months in 30% new French oak barriques. Winemaker: Christopher Keys. 17.5-/20 Jul 2012 RRP $35.00
