Tiki Estate Waipara Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 27-Aug-2013
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is very fine and tightly concentrated with penetrating aromas of exotic florals, along with rose petal and spice notes and subtle herb and musky elements. Dry to taste, tightly concentrated flavours of exotic florals, jasmine, musk and fermentation esters show excellent fruit extract, weight and presence on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft with refined textures and restrained acidity, and the flavours flow smoothly and seamlessly to a dry, sustained finish with aromatic fruit notes. This is a very young, concentrated and soft-textured, dry Pinot Gris with exotic floral fruit flavours. It will develop greater even greater richness over the next 3-4+ years and may merit an even higher rating. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare. Fruit from the company’s ‘Waiata’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 5.5 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $19.99
