Tiki Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Nov-2012
Fruit from the company's three upper Wairau Valley vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.35% alc. and 4.4 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a very fine, tightly penetrating nose with a soft amalgam of gooseberry fruit and minerals with a passionfruit underlay. Dry to taste, the fruit flavours are presented with elegance and slender proportions, but also with fine concentration. There is an attractive succulence along with very fine, balancing chalky textures, and softly restrained acidity. The palate shows honesuckle nuance and detail, and is smoothly flowing, carrying through to a subtle, near ethereal, floral finish. This is an elegant and aromatic Sauvignon Blanc with very fine features. Match with Mediterranean salads and vegetables, and with Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. 18.0+/20 Nov 2012 RRP $18.99
