Light ruby-red colour with some depth, paler on the rim with slight purple hues. This has a soft and gently full, up-front and accessible nose with aromas of savoury strawberry, dark cherry and plum fruit harmoniously entwined with herbs, liquorice and spices. Medium-bodied, the palate is light and approachable with sweet and savoury fruit flavours of strawberries and dark cherries, along with liquorice and spice elements. The mouthfeel is soft, supple and juicy with light extraction and structure, and integrated, lacy acidity. The wine flows to a soft and light finish of savoury red fruits and nuances of herbs. This is an light, accessible and supple Pinot Noir with juicy, savoury red fruits. Serve with tapas, risotto, pasta and poultry over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard, Upper Wairau Valley, destemmed and fermented with a percentage of whole berries to 12.7% alc., the wine given French oak maturation. 16.5-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $22.99
