Tiki Estate Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Feb-2014
Moderately deep and dark ruby-red, lighter on rim with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is softly full and harmoniously presented with primary red cherry fruit along with a subtle herbal and restraining reductive underlay, some raspberry elements building in the glass. Medium-light bodied, soft and succulent cherry and strawberry fruit flavours show with a little herbal coolness. Fresh acidity provides linearity and the tannin extraction is modest, allowing the fruit to feature. The mouthfeel is soft and the acidity carries the flavours to a minerally, dry finish. This is a light-bodied Pinot Noir with soft cherry fruit flavours and fresh acid line. Serve with antipasto, pasta and pizza over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard in the Upper Wairau Valley, fully destemmed and fermented with a percentage of whole berries to 12.5% alc., the wine aged in barrel. 16.5/20 Feb 2014 RRP $23.95
