Tiki ‘Estate’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Oct-2016
Bright, full, straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. This has a full and voluminous nose with softly packed aromas of ripe, pungent yellow stonefruits melded harmoniously with floral and honeysuckle elements, a hint of musk and minerally suggestions. Off-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is gently mouthfilling with flavours of ripe, pungent, yellow stonefruits entwined with yellow florals, honeysuckle and musk. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, the acidity mellow and integrated. Some underlying alcoholic power emerges and carries the wine to a light stonefruit and honied finish with dry textures. This is a softly full, ripe, pungent yellow stonefruited, off-dry Pinot Gris with some underlying alcohol drive. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard in the Upper Wairau Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $19.99
