Tiki ‘Estate’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight golden-yellow hues, lighter edged. The nose is elegantly concentrated and bound with gently unfolding aromas of yellow stonefruits and yellow florals entwined with pear fruit, nuances of honey and subtle, thirst-quenching mineral notes, and delicate hints of fermentation esters. Off-dry to taste, gently concentrated flavours of yellow stonefruits, pears and lifted florals are melded with honeysuckle nuances, forming a delicately rich and succulent core. The mouthfeel is rounded with some unctuous textures, and underlying acid freshness balancing the sweetness. The wine flows with good energy, the pear and honeysuckle flavours leading to a well concentrated, long and lingering finish with fine, dry textures. This is a gently rich and subtly unctuous off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, pear and floral flavours. Match with mildly spicy Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 7.8 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $19.99
