Tiki ‘Estate’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Aug-2014
Full, light straw colour with a slight blush, lighter on rim. The nose is softly voluminous with aromas of exotic florals, pears and tropical fruits, honey and fermentation esters, interwoven with very subtle savoury complexities of flint and minerals. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, deliciously succulent flavours of tropical fruits, pears and exotic florals show with delicate richness and detail. The palate is smooth-flowing with a refined, guiding phenolic line and soft acidity providing a rounded mouthfeel. This is well-balanced and quite complete, the wine following a soft core and minerally nuanced line to a dry, long-lingering finish. This is an attractively detailed dry Pinot Gris with soft richness and textures. Serve with antipasto, paté, and lightly spiced Middle Eastern fare over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Rewa’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 6.4 g.L RS. 18.5/20 Aug 2014 RRP $19.99
