Tiki ‘Estate’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Dec-2014
Bright, full straw-yellow colour, lighter on edge. The nose is tightly bound with pure white and yellow stonefruit, and citrus fruit aromas expressed with freshness and clarity. Some lemon-curd MLF and toasty oak elements emerge in the glass. Medium-bodied, this has a good core of uncomplicated and focussed flavours of citrus fruits. The fruit is fresh and youthful, and grows in mouthfeel with a soft, fine-textured line. Some MLF and nutty, toasty oak elements add detail and interest. There is fresh acidity underlying the palate, leading the wine to a crisp, light, moderately sustained finish. This is a fresh, fruit-focussed citrussy Chardonnay with some toasty oak nuances. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 2-3 years. Hawke’s Bay fruit stainless-steel fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine given limited oak contact, undergoing partial MLF. 16.5+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $19.99
