Ti Point ‘Ruby’ Matakana Coast Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 28-Dec-2014
Named for Ruby, winemaker Tracy Haslam’s daughter. 100% Merlot, hand-picked and given 4 hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 6.6 g/L RS. Light strawberry pink colour with some depth, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with good volume of aromas of strawberries and raspberries and cream, softly building in depth, revealing lifted red florals and some attractive fruit pastille notes. Dryish to taste and medium--bodied, the palate features bright, lively and aromatic fruit flavours of cherries, strawberries and raspberries and cream that fill the mouth. The wine has good acidity and phenolic textures which provide a fulsome mouthfeel and structure enlivening and carrying the fruit, to a refreshing, juicy and crisp finish with berryfuit and confectionary elements. This is a fresh, lively Merlot Rosé with up-front raspberry and cream flavours and a fulsome mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with tapas over the next 2 years. 17.5+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $23.99
