Ti Point Hawke’s Bay Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Blended Red from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 20-Nov-2016
Dark, deep, even ruby-red colour with dark purple hues on the rim, youthful in appearance. The fine is finely proportioned with tightly bound and intense aromas of fragrant redcurrants melded with blackcurrants and cassis, underlined by dark herbs at the core unfolding some peppery elements. Medium-bodied, the palate is tight and firmly bound with sweet and luscious flavours of blackcurrants, blackcurrant leaf, dark herbs and pepper. The fruit has intensity and depth forming a concentrated core and line with fine-grained tannin extraction and balanced, fresh acidity. Some herbal and leafy notes emerge and carry to the light, lingering finish. This is a finely concentrated Merlot/Cabernet blend with bright, sweet and lush blackcurrant, leaf and herb flavours on a firm, tannic finish. Match with herb marinated lamb and beef dishes over the next 3-4 years. A blend of Hawke’s Bat Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, hand-picked and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak barriques. 16.5+/20 Nov 2016 RRP $22.99
