Ti Point Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 15-Dec-2015
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with a suggestion of light gold, pale on edge. The nose is elegantly presented with tautly held aromas of white peaches and citrus fruits, lifted by white floral notes and fresh, fermentation esters. The aromatics build in depth revealing nutty oak and barrel-fermentation detail with aearation. Medium-full bodied, the palate is firmly concentrated with bright and fragrant fruit flavours of white peaches, stonefruits and citrus fruits in a harmonious amalgam with white florals. This has subtle, nutty barrel-ferment notes and fermentation esters lending a delicate creamy richness. The palate is elegant and finely-textured with integrated lacy acid freshness and some noticeable alcoholic drive. The wine carries to a long, fragrant peach and floral finish with nutty interest. This is an elegantly concentrated Chardonnay with aromatic white stonefruits and a fine, firm, lively line. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 3+ years. Clone Mendoza and 15 fruit from the Dartmoor Valley, fermented with French oak, to 13.5% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage and 100% MLF. 17.0+/20 Dec 2015 RRP $22.99
