Three Miners ‘Miner’s Right’ Earnscleugh Central Otago Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 14-Apr-2016
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on edge. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with youthful aromas of white stonefruits, lifted exotic florals and fermentation esters, and subtle musk, spice and mineral elements. The aromatics are clear and refreshingly clean. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate possesses clear and precise flavours of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with exotic florals, musk and spice. This is soft, smooth and slippery in flow and the mouthfeel shows roundness and moderate unctuousness. The wine is balanced with a fine phenolic line and soft underlying acidity that leads to a light floral and stonefruited finish. This is a light, smooth-flowing, fresh, off-dry Pinot Gris with exotic and spicy fruit nuances. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 2 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and cool-fermented in tank to 12.6% alc. and 7.2 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Apr 2016 RRP $26.00
