Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues on edge. The nose is full and even with soft and open aromas of gooseberries, green capsicums and lifted lime fruit, expressive of the cooler Awatere Valley. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, soft and gentle flavours of gooseberries, cut grass and capsicums flow to fill the palate. The flavours are restrained, but show some lusciousness, and are enlivened by balanced unobtrusive acidity. This has good mouthfilling presence and the positive core carries the flavours to a full, dry finish. This is a soft, gently full Sauvignon Blanc with a dry finish. Serve with Mediterranean and Pacific Rim cuisine over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.53 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.5-/20 Dec 2014 RRP $14.99
