Very dark, black-hued purple-red colour, a little lighter on the rim, very youthful in appearance. The nose is firmly concentrated with intense aromas of blackberries along with rosemary herbal detail, unfolding notes of black pepper and spices. This is tightly bound and appears brooding and restrained, but shows mint and eucalypt with aeration. Medium-full bodied, this is up-front with solidly presented flavours of blackberry fruit with rosemary, black pepper, spices and toasty oak forming a rounded, but concentrated core. The mouthfeel features fine-grained tannins with integrated acidity lending an elegant drive, and the wine flows softly to an elegant finish of black fruits and herbs. This is a softly concentrated, up-front Shiraz with black fruit and herb flavours and a fine, grainy structure. Serve with herb-marinated red meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from ‘St Kitts’, ‘Milton Park’ and ‘Kabininge’ in the Barossa, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French and American oak. 17.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP AUS$19.00
