Theory & Practice Chardonnay 2019, Hawke’s Bay

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Dec-2020
Bright, pale yellow with a slight green hue, even colour throughout. The nose is softly full with aromas of apples, pears along with peaches, and creaminess from MLF. Medium-full bodied, well-proportioned peaches, nectarines, apples melded with cashew nuts, on a creamy framework. There is a crunchiness to the fruit, flow with lively acidity, and apple/ lemon sherbet notes. Balanced creaminess provides body and mouthfeel, leave a round and smooth lingering closing. Subtle spices added interest to a creamy, lively finish. This is a well-rounded Chardonnay with flavours of apple, peach and cream on a vibrant and creamy palate. Match with risotto and poultry over the next 3+ years. Barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc, full MLF, aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, 35% new oak. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Dec 2020 RRP $24
