The Sisters Marlborough Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2013
Dijon clone 115 from the Awatere Valley destemmed, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months in 25% new French oak barrels. Even ruby-red colour with depth, lighter purple hues on rim. The bouquet is fruit-focussed with light fruit aromas of fresh, dark red berries and raspberry liqueur that build, revealing herb and peppery elements. Medium-bodied and elegant in size, dark cherry, herb and raspberry flavours form a firm palate line with fine, grainy tannins in support. The mouthfeel is brisk and racy with plenty of acidity that carries the flavours to a tight, dry and moderately sustained finish with red berry fruit notes. This is an elegant, but firm and lively Pinot Noir with raspberry and herb flavours. Match with pastas, poultry and pork dishes over the next 4+ years. 1,022 cases made. 17.0/20 Oct 2013 RRP $25.00
