The Pruner’s Reward Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 25-Oct-2011
Bright garnet-red colour with moderate depth and a light, brick edge. This has a light, elegant. lifted nose of red cherry fruit and dried herbs along with oak spice elements, and secondary nuances. Medium-bodied, the flavours of light red cherry fruit infused with oak spice and cedar are enlivened by fresh, racy acidity. Soft, drying tannins provide a firmness through the mid-palate, leading to a crisp, savoury, dried herb finish carried by the acid. Clone 114, 115, 667 and Abel from the ‘Home Block' fully destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in 1 and 2 y.o. French oak. A light, cooler-spectrum Pinot Noir with attractive oaking to match with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 3 years. 16.0+/20 Oct 2011 RRP $25.00
