The Ned Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Aug-2014
Very pale pink-blush colour, pale on edge. This has a softly concentrated core of fresh tropical fruits, rose-petal florals, spices and honeysuckle on the nose, with perfumes and fermentation esters providing good lift. Dryish to taste, rich yellow stonefruit flavours are enhanced by subtle red berry fruits. The mouthfeel is lush and juicy, with good weight and a suggestion of unctuousness. The palate is fresh with balanced background acidity and driven by some alcoholic power. A soft, concentrated core carries through to a long, lingering finish. This is a rich, lush, off-dry Pinot Gris with softly concentrated stonefruit flavours with some red berry fruit nuances. Serve with most white meat courses and with Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. Some parcels of fruit given skin contact, the fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 4.2 g/L RS. 17.5+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $18.00
