The Natural Wine Co. Gisborne Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 02-Feb-2016
Even ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with aromas of dark red cherry and berry fruit integrated with herbal nuances and some minerally reduction. The aromatics grow in depth in the glass. Light-medium bodied, the flavours of red cherry and berry fruit are light in expression and marked by piquant herbal elements and minerally reduction. The mouthfeel is brisk with crisp acidity and grainy tannin extraction lends dry textures. The wine flows along a firm line and carries to a dry, moderately long finish with grip and herb nuances. This is a light Pinot Noir with cherry, berry and herb flavours with reductive notes, and a grainy, racy mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto and tapas over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Coast’ vineyard, fully destemmed, given a cold soak and indigenous yeast fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine given oak contact. Certified AsureQuality organic. 15.5-/20 Feb 2016 RRP $19.95
