The Natural Wine Co. Gisborne Organic Rosé 2015

Rose from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 28-Sep-2015
Moderately deep peach-pink and red colour, lighter on the rim with a little orange. The nose is full with intense aromas of savoury strawberry fruit along with some funky, earthy elements and refreshing herb and green stonefruit notes. Strawberry and cream and hints of fruit pastilles unfold in the glass. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the mouthfeel is crisp, fresh and racy, the acidity lifting the strawberry fruit. The fruit is entwined with savoury herb and red floral nuances, and provide good vinous presence. Light, dry, phenolic textures emerge and underline the flow, and the flavours are carried by the dry grip and acidity to a light finish of strawberries and cream. This is a flavoursome off-dry rosé with savoury strawberry fruit and a crisp, textured mouthfeel. Pinot Noir from the ‘Coast Vineyard’, Manutuke, given 1 day skin contact, cool-fermented in stainless steel and blended with a small portion of Gisborne Sauvignon Blanc, the wine at 12.0% alc. and 12 g/L RS. Certified Asurequality Organic. 15.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $19.95
