The Natural Wine Co. Gisborne Organic Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 27-Sep-2015
Bright, light golden-yellow colour, lighter edged. This has a soft, full nose with delicate aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits and pears with subtle nuances of honeysuckle and musk. With aeration apricot kernel, lifted yellow florals and hints of flint and minerals emerge. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, this has a light and gently concentrated core of sweetly ripe yellow stonefruits, yellow florals and honeysuckle. The fruit is balanced by fine, dry phenolic textures and fresh acidity. The palate has good presence and liveliness, and carries to a moderately long, dry finish. This is a gently rich, off-dry Pinot Gris with yellow stonefruit and honeysuckle flavours and a light, dry, textured palate. Match with most white meat dishes and Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Coast Vineyard’, Manutuke, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 12 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Certified Asurequality Organic. 16.5/20 Sep 2015 RRP $19.95
