The Mooney Cuvee No.2 Wairarapa Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 19-Jan-2016
Bright, oft straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the edge. The nose is softly fresh with moderate volume and good depth of lime fruit aromas, along with sherbet, exotic floral and honeysuckle elements. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, the palate features bright, aromatic fruit flavours of limes and lifted exotic florals, entwined with sherbet and honeysuckle notes. The wine flows along a fine-textured line enlivened by thirst-quenching acidity, leading to a dry finish with some phenolic gip underling light floral and sherbet notes. This is a refreshing medium Riesling with lime and exotic floral flavours, and a dry, textural, mouthwatering finish. Match with Asian cuisine and mildly spicy dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from Martinborough, foot-stomped and cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 17 g/L RS. 141 dozen made. 17.0+/20 Jan 2016 RRP $24.00
