The Luminary Wairarapa Pinot Noir 2017

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 09-Jan-2018
Light red colour with slight garnet hues, pale edged. The nose is well-proportioned with good depth of red berry fruits entwined with an amalgam of nutty and toasty oak at the heart, unfolding subtle red floral notes with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate has up-front flavours that combine soft red berry fruits and toasty, nutty oak to form a soft, but positive core. The palate has approachability and a supple mouthfeel with light tannin structure and balanced acidity. The wine flows to a light, toasty nuanced finish. This is an up-front Pinot Noir with red berry fruits and oak flavours of a supple, accessible palate. Serve with antipasto, tapas, pasta and risotto dishes over the next 3 years. Wine 89% from Gladstone and 11% from estate Martinborough fruit, fully destemmed and fermented to 12.5% alc., 11% aged in barrel and the remainder given new oak contact in tank.
