The Luminary Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 04-Dec-2018
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, paler on the rim. The nose is softly full and voluminous with well-packed aromas of pungent passionfruit along with subtle tropical fruit notes, and fresh and dark herbs. The fruit is fragrant and possesses a floral lift. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has slightly restrained flavours of pungent passionfruit and tropical fruit entwined with a layer of fresh herbs. The fruit is sweet and luscious, and the palate is enlivened by a fine line of lacy acidity. The fruit richness is balanced by a light phenolic textured flow that carries the wine to a long, elegant, dry finish. This Sauvignon Blanc has a fulsome pungent nose, and a restrained palate with sweet and juicy fruit flavours of passionfruit and tropical fruits with herbs, fresh acidity and light, dry textures. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the company’s Martinborough vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc., the wine spending 4 months on lees. 17.5-/20 Dec 2018 RRP $19.50
