The Luminary Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 15-Jan-2018
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is full and deep and well-packed with pungent passionfruit and tropical fruit aromas, along with fresh and dark herbs, This grows to show good presence and volume. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is bright and vibrant with robust fruit flavours of pungent passionfruit entwined with tropical fruit and dark herb flavours. This has plenty of fruit depth and the mouthfeel is vibrant and vigorous, with brisk acidity. The flavours carry along a light, thirst-quenching, dry-textured line, leading to a long and lingering finish. This is a full, up-front, well-concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with pungent passionfruit and herb flavours on a vigorous, zesty palate. Match with salads and vegetables, and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Clouston’ and ‘East Base’ vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 4 months on lees. 17.5/20 Jan 2018 RRP $19.50
