The Luminary Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 10-Nov-2015
Bright, light stra-yellow colour, lighter on edge. This has a firm and intensely bound bouquet with aromas of cut grass, gooseberries and nuances of bean-like secondary development, revealing fresh green capsicums and steely minerals with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features softly rich and sweetly luscious, up-front flavours of ripe gooseberries and tropical fruits along with nuances of green beans. The mouthfeel is smooth in texture and soft acidity adds to the palate roundness. The wine has a soft, dense core which carries easily to a long pungent finish with light, crisp acidity. This is a soft, upfront and rich Sauvignon Blanc with the beginnings of secondary bean-like development. Match with Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the ‘East Base’, ‘Clouston’ and ‘Southdown’ vineyards, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.3% alc. and 4 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 months on lees. 17.0/20 Nov 2015 RRP $16.99
