The Luminary Martinborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 06-Jul-2017
Even, light ruby-red colour with some depth, paler edged. This has a firm and concentrated nose with aromas of dark-red and black cherry and berry fruit, along with dark-red florals, a suggestion of dark herbs and a little nutty oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate is firm with good depth and intensity of tightly bound flavours of dark-red and black berry and cherry fruit. The palate unveils dar floral notes, subtle herbal elements and some nutty and slightly resinous oak. The mouthfeel features a firmly structured core with integrated acidity lending a positive line, leading to a long, lingering black-fruited, nutty finish. This is a firm Pinot Noir with dark-red and black berry and cherry fruits with nutty oak, positive extract and length. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from the ‘East Base’ and ‘Winery’ blocks, 44% MV 6 clone, with 115, 667 and 777, destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 15% new French oak barrels. 17.0/20 Jul 2017 RRP $26.00
