The Lazy Dog ‘Sweet on Chenin’ Queensberry Central Otago Chenin Blanc/Gewurztraminer 2018

Blended White from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 09-Dec-2018
Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly packed with finely concentrated aromas of white florals and stonefruits along with nuances of exotic florals along with honied elements and a little nuttiness. Sweetish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has softly rich and gently expressed flavours of white and yellow stonefruits with honeysuckle and exotic floral nuances. The mouthfeel possesses a fine core and some linearity, the wine carrying to a light, phenolic-textured lingering finish with soft acidity. This is a softly rich and gentle, sweetish Chenin Blanc/Gewurztraminer blend with stonefruit, honey and florals on a light, phenolic-textured line. Serve as an aperitif and with gently spiced foods over the next 2+ years. A blend of 90% late harvest Chenin Blanc and 10% Gewurztraminer, fermented in seasoned oak to 12.5% alc., with 55 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months in oak. 150 cases made. 16.5+/20 Dec 2018 RRP $28.50
