The King’s Favour Waihopi Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Mar-2015
Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with light lemon hues, pale edged. The nose is elegant and slender in proportion with aromas of cut grass, green apples, gooseberries and nuances of lifted tropical fruits and delicate herbal elements. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, light, cooler-spectrum fruit flavours of cut grass, herbs and nettles show with gooseberry and lime fruit notes. The aromatic expression is lifted by piquant acidity and the mouthfeel is refreshing and cutting with a fine-textured line. The flavours carry to a moderately long, slender finish. This is a light and elegant cooler-spectrum Sauvignon Blanc with good cut and aromatic lift. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the Waihopi River vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 2.3 g/L RS, the wine aged on light lees. 16.5/20 Mar 2015 RRP $22.95
